📢 Special Visit: SC Superintendent Ellen Weaver at PCCTC! 📢
We were honored to host South Carolina Superintendent of Education, Ellen Weaver, at the Pickens County Career & Technology Center earlier today!
It was a privilege to showcase the incredible opportunities in Career and Technical Education (CTE) available to students in Pickens County. From hands-on learning experiences to industry-driven training, our programs equip students with the skills needed for success in college, careers, and beyond.
We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight the dedication of our students and teachers, who work tirelessly to make CTE a pathway to success. Thank you, Superintendent Weaver, for taking the time to visit and see firsthand the impact of CTE education in Pickens County!

SDPC will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, due to the danger of ice on secondary roads. No buses will travel on icy roads. High school students should check Schoology for adjusted schedules. Details:: https://www.pickens.k12.sc.us/article/196018

Attention PCCTC Students & Families!
A new South Carolina policy requires limiting cell phone and device use during the school day. To follow state law (Budget Proviso 1.103), SDPC has updated its Personal Electronic Device Policy.www.pickens.k12.sc.us/page/sdpc-cell-phone-policy
What You Need to Know:
• During Instructional Time: All devices must be silenced and stored.
• Devices Include: Cell phones, smart watches, tablets, gaming devices, etc.
• Exceptions: Approved instructional use, medical needs, or emergencies (with prior written approval).
Thank you for helping us maintain a focused learning environment at PCCTC!

📱 Revised Personal Electronic Device Policy: Beginning January 2025 📱
Under a new South Carolina policy, schools are required to limit students' access to cell phones and other personal devices during the school day. The School District of Pickens County has adopted a revised Personal Electronic Device Policy to comply with state law (Budget Proviso 1.103).
✔️Devices must be silenced and stored in lockers, backpacks, or other designated areas throughout the instructional time.
✔️Devices include but are not limited to, cell phones, smart watches, tablets, and gaming devices.
We encourage parents to discuss this policy with their children and support its implementation when we return in January. Thank you for partnering with us as we implement this required policy.
