Ken Hitchcock has been the director of the Pickens County Career & Technology Center since July of 2013. He graduated from The Citadel with a degree in Secondary Education. He was a Social Studies teacher and coach for seventeen years at Greenwood and Liberty High Schools. Mr. Hitchcock received Masters Degrees from the United States Sports Academy and Clemson University before moving into school administration. Ken served five years as an Assistant Principal at Easley High School before accepting the Directorship at the Pickens County CTC. He completed his Education Specialist Degree from Furman University in 2015.
Ken’s vision for the Pickens County CTC is to offer dynamic and interesting career programs to help students choose a career that matches their skills and passions. This will help students to become college and career ready in our global economy. The Pickens County CTC administration works hard to develop working relationships with our middle and high schools, local colleges, economic development agencies, and industries to develop a network to help students succeed. He has charged his faculty with the goal of 100% student placement in a related career field, the military, or college upon high school graduation.
Mr. Hitchcock is a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce, Pickens Innovation Center, and Leadership Pickens County. He serves as the Chairman of the Board for Junior Leadership Pickens County. The Pickens County CTC is a member of the Greater Easley Chamber of Commerce and the Clemson Chamber.
