King Asphalt Hires Apprenticeship Students

This is the image for the news article titled King Asphalt Hires Apprenticeship StudentsKing Asphalt hired four Pickens County Career & Technology Center students for their newly developed apprenticeship program.  Each student will work through ten modules over the course of the next several weeks to determine permanent placement within the company. 

The Building Construction students hired were Austin Burkhart and Trevor Collins. Austin is a junior at Daniel High School and has completed Building Construction courses 1-3.  Trevor is a senior at Daniel High School and has completed Carpentry 1 & 2 and Building Construction 3.  Their instructor is Mr. Jeff Stephens.

The Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management students that were hired are Chloe Wilson and Christopher Austin.  Both Chloe and Chris are juniors at Pickens High School and have competed SREB's Advanced Curriculum Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management courses 1-4 through Pickens County CTC.  Their instructor is Mrs. Shaye Stephens.

All four students are OSHA certified and earned their certification during their course work at Pickens County CTC.  The students created a resume and went through the interview process and will be starting their new jobs immediately.  
Congratulations to Trevor, Austin, Chloe, and Chris!  Thank you to King Asphalt for partnering with Pickens County Career & Technology Center and providing these amazing opportunities for our students.  A special thank you to Jeromy Arnett, Dr. Cheryl Garrison, Mr. Ken Hitchcock, and Mr. Tim Hiott for helping coordinate efforts between our schools and industry and working to build strong partnerships that will give our students these excellent opportunities.
