Tuesday and Thursday nights the Machine Technology room is full and Instructor, Brian Aiken, is busy preparing adults and students for future careers and new certifications.  CNC Operator Level I Course Description is as follows:  

Students will learn basic CNC Machine operation principles, Shop Mathematics, Blueprint Reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, English to Metric Conversions, Precision Measurement, Basic Programming Language, and CNC Machine Operator tasks. This will include training on HAAS CNC Simulations as well as experience on actual HAAS CNC machines.

The course is composed of 150 classroom hours and 90+ hours of online training for a total of 240 hours.  Course lecture and classroom training will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 – 8:30pm. The online portion of the class is self-paced and is delivered through the Immerse2learn training platform. It must be completed from home. All assigned Immerse2learn modules must be completed with a grade of at least 80%.

Computer and internet access will be required. NIMS certification testing will be included.

Students must have a high school diploma or GED. Additionally, Work Keys Silver or WIN equivalent preferred.

Cost: $500 ($200 due to start and balance by 4/1/19)

*Current SDPC students may attend the class at No Charge!
